Happy Holidays and we'll see you in the new year!

But That's Another Story continues online!  For our regulars who attended the Free Times Cafe live shows, consider yourself at the club: there is a one drink minimum (please serve yourselves).

Your ticket purchases help us support causes we believe in.

In December, a portion of the ticket sales went to Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue charity with a dual mission of environmental protection and hunger relief.

We know times are tough, but if you are able, please consider helping us by purchasing a ticket through Eventbrite.

Next Show: Sunday February 7th, 2021 @ 07:30 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)

But That's Another Story is an online, monthly storytelling event to bring people together during these challenging times.

Canadian Comedy Award recipient Briane Nasimok and Canadian Comedy Award nominee Christel Bartelse have joined forces to showcase a wide array of Toronto's finest raconteurs!

Each evening will include a variety of styles (fables, indigenous tales, contemporary works, autobiographical observations, comic essays) from some of Toronto's most compelling tellers.  "But That's Another Story" is presented on the first Sunday of every month.

December's Tellers:

Nastazja Palonka is still new to the art of storytelling, and is usually found backstage either stage-managing, producing or directing. She has stage managed at the Hamilton, Toronto and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She can also be seen behind the director’s table, having worked on the HamilTEN, InspiraTO festival, and the Oakville One Acts. Lately she has wandered back on the stage, most recently performing in the 2019 HamilTEN festival and Squirrel Suit production's Up Up and Away storytelling night.

Richard lives in Vancouver where he is regularly seen on local stages doing stand-up or performing at poetry slams or singing and playing original songs on the piano. He frequently does charity work in support of men’s health and addiction and alcohol recovery. His portrait photography is also popular and can be seen on Instagram @richardlettphoto.

Gerard Harris was a comedian and storyteller from the UK. He’s still alive (at the time of writing) but quit performing in January of this year, another example of being just so far ahead of his time

You can find out nothing at https://gerardharris.co.uk

Gaurav Madan was born and brought up in New Delhi, India, and left home over nearly eight years ago to explore the world. In the process, he ran across India before he landed in Canada and started telling stories of adventures and experiments of his life and India's folklore. He's an Ocean and Climate Researcher in Oslo, Norway by day, and a storyteller by evening.

Christel Bartelse is an actor, writer, producer, clown, teacher and comedian, known for her five solo shows which have toured across Canada, the US and twice to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  She is the creator of the Podcast all KIDding and cohost/coproducer of Chris and Christel’s Collection at the Peacock Pub. She’s terrible at updating her website but check her out at christelbartelse.com

Briane Nasimok is a Gemini-nominated writer, comedian, producer and the creator/performer of Fringe favourite, “Confessions of an Operatic Mute”. A current member of the Storytelling Toronto Board, his television credits range from YTV’s “Uh Oh” to MTV’s “Test Pattern”.  Briane had a previous career as a Canadian film star, which is why most people don’t know him.   He also has a website – brianenasimok.com.

Thank you to all of But That's Another Story's past tellers. We could quite literally not have done it without you!
